CAGE_fulldome A/V in co-production with SAT Montreal
CAGE is an immersive audiovisual experience inspired by Jack London´s novel The Star Rover – the story of San Quentin death row inmate Darrel Standing who escapes the horror of life in prison by withdrawing into vivid dreams and by transcending into the depths of the subconscious.
CAGE is a pioneering act in the field of immersive audiovisual storytelling that explores narrative possibilities from genres such as psychological suspense and science fiction.
Past Video uses fulldome technology to blur the boundaries between the “real” and “imaginary” and pushes the limits of audiovisual and sensorial experiences to the next level.
360° projections and 3D sound and scents simulate oneiric and surreal scenarios inspired by the altered states of consciousness accessible through mental techniques, and through hallucinogenic plants and substances.
Parallelisms are explored between cutting edge digital technology and psychedelia, modern science and shamanic teachings of nature, and relativity of space and time.
The audience is enveloped by the raw emotions of a tortured prisoner who faces a terminal situation on death row and will then be taken on a quest through the parallel realities towards the final liberation of becoming a part of universal unity.
